Bumble has appointed Neil Shah as its first Chief Business Officer, a newly created role, to oversee the company’s strategic transformation. Shah, appointed on December 3, 2024, will be responsible for driving Bumble’s revenue model, pricing strategy, and partnerships in his new role.
Shah, an Indian American, brings extensive experience from his previous role as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Business Operations at Slack, where he spent eight years overseeing strategy, data, and business operations. Shah, who started his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Co., later held strategic roles at Twitter. He holds a BSE and MSE in Industrial and Operational Engineering from the University of Michigan, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Bumble also announced the resignation of its Chief Financial Officer, Anu Subramanian, who will leave to pursue other opportunities. She will remain with Bumble until March 14, 2025, assisting with the transition. Subramanian, who joined Bumble in 2020, played a pivotal role in the company’s 2021 initial public offering and its global expansion. Before joining Bumble, she held CFO positions at Univision Communications and VICE Media. She holds an MBA from Yale School of Management and is a Chartered Accountant in India.
