Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, highlighting its vision for “Viksit Bharat” or Developed India. He emphasized the significance of the BJP’s manifesto, known as ‘Sankalp Patra,’ stating that the party has a track record of fulfilling its promises over the past decade, which have benefitted various segments of society such as youth, women, the poor, and farmers.
The manifesto outlined several key promises, including India’s bid for the Olympics in 2036, the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), and measures to combat paper leaks. One of the significant pledges involved expediting infrastructure development along the borders with China, Myanmar, and Pakistan, with a focus on utilizing technological solutions to enhance border security.
Furthermore, the BJP committed to accelerating India’s economic growth, aiming to elevate the nation to the status of the third-largest economic power globally. The party reaffirmed its support for initiatives like the Citizenship Amendment Act and the Uniform Civil Code, emphasizing the importance of gender equality and modernizing laws to reflect contemporary values.
Additionally, the manifesto emphasized the BJP’s commitment to governance reforms, including the implementation of One Nation, One Election, and strengthening institutions like IITs, IIMs, and AIIMS. Social welfare initiatives, such as free ration distribution, free electricity for poor households, and infrastructure development to support women’s participation in the workforce, were also outlined.
The BJP pledged to prioritize healthcare access through schemes like Ayushman Bharat, extend support to farmers through increased MSP and financial assistance programs, and ensure social security for vulnerable groups such as auto, taxi, and truck drivers. Overall, the manifesto outlined a comprehensive vision for inclusive development and governance reforms aimed at realizing the aspirations of all sections of society.
