Mr. Bill Gates, a prominent figure in global philanthropy and the co-founder of Microsoft, was recently celebrated with the 2023 KISS Humanitarian Award. This accolade was bestowed upon him on February 28, 2024, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, in tribute to his exceptional endeavors in fostering global health, education, and climate change mitigation through groundbreaking technological advancements aimed at diminishing social disparities.
The award event was marked by the virtual attendance of KIIT and KISS staff, students, and alumni. A highlight of the ceremony was Mr. Gates engaging in an insightful dialogue about gender equality following a query from a former KISS student.
Prof. Achyuta Samanta, the visionary behind KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, remarked on the occasion, “Presenting the KISS Humanitarian Award to Bill Gates not only acknowledges his remarkable achievements but also enhances the stature of this award.
