The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a total cash reward of $7 million for the 2025 Champions Trophy-winning team. According to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, $360,000 each will be awarded to the 15 players and head coach Gautam Gambhir.
Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India dominated the eight-team tournament, securing victories over Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand to top Group A. They went on to defeat Australia by four wickets in the semi-final before clinching their third Champions Trophy title by triumphing over New Zealand in the final at the Dubai International Stadium on March 9.
The prize distribution includes players who did not feature in any matches during the tournament. Arshdeep Singh, Rishabh Pant, and Washington Sundar, despite not playing a single game, will each receive $360,000 along with the rest of the squad.
“The 15-member India squad that won the 2025 Champions Trophy will each receive $360,000. Head coach Gautam Gambhir will also receive $360,000,” Saikia told IANS on Thursday.
Saikia further detailed the distribution of rewards among the coaching and support staff. The rest of the coaching team, including batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate, and fielding coach T Dilip, will receive $60,000 each.
The same reward of $60,000 will be given to the support staff, which includes physiotherapists Kamlesh Jain and Yogesh Parmar, team doctor Aditya Daftary, throwdown specialists Raghavindraa Dvgi, Nuwan Udeneke, and Dayanand Garani, masseurs Chetan Kumar, Rajeev Kumar, and Arun Kanade, and strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai.
Additionally, BCCI officials who were involved with the team during the tournament, such as video analyst Hari Prasad Mohan, the liaison officer, and media managers, will also be recognized. “The rest of the BCCI officials, including the media manager and liaison officer, will receive $30,000 each,” Saikia added.
The BCCI secretary also confirmed that chief selector Ajit Agarkar will receive $36,000, while the remaining selection committee members – Subroto Banerjee, Ajay Ratra, S Sharath, and Shiv Sunder Das – will each be awarded $30,000.
Furthermore, Saikia disclosed that the prize money awarded by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to the Indian team, approximately $2.4 million, has been allocated solely to the players. Each squad member will receive $172,000 from this ICC reward.
“The BCCI is proud to honour the players and support staff with this well-deserved reward. Their dominance in world cricket is the result of years of hard work and strategic execution. This victory has reaffirmed India’s top ranking in white-ball cricket, and we are confident that the team will continue to excel in the coming years.
“The dedication and commitment displayed by the players have set a new benchmark, and we believe that Indian cricket will continue to elevate its standards on the global stage,” Saikia stated in the official BCCI release issued on Thursday.
