After a gap of four years, Tiger Shroff is back in his signature action avatar with Baaghi 4. The fourth installment of the franchise aims to push the limits of Bollywood action, delivering a mix of bloodshed, martial arts, and heightened drama. This time, the cast expands with Sanjay Dutt, Sonam Bajwa, and former Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu, who makes her film debut. Director A Harsha marks his Hindi cinema entry with this project, steering the franchise into darker, more intense territory.
The film revolves around Ronnie (Tiger Shroff), who once again finds himself on a path of vengeance. Alongside gripping fight sequences and slasher-inspired visuals, the story explores a haunting psychological layer. Ranveer Pratap Singh, a defense officer, is deeply in love with Dr. Alisha D’Souza. Their romance, however, ends tragically when Alisha dies, leaving Ranveer shattered. Soon after, Ronnie suffers a devastating accident that renders him brain dead. Months later, though he survives, he remains trapped in emotional trauma.
Haunted by visions of Alisha, Ronnie begins to lose his grip on reality. While he believes she is still around, those closest to him dismiss it as delusion. Yet, the possibility emerges that what appears to be hallucination might be part of a larger, sinister conspiracy targeting him. This mysterious angle adds intrigue to the otherwise straightforward revenge narrative.
Despite the promise of a fresh take, the first half of Baaghi 4 struggles with its pace and execution. The film leans heavily on song-and-dance numbers that feel forced and disrupt the flow. Ronnie and Alisha’s love story, revisited through slow-motion sequences and familiar tropes, lacks originality. The storytelling wavers between gritty intensity and glossy presentation, leaving the narrative feeling uneven.
The action remains the franchise’s strength, with Tiger’s combat skills and high-octane sequences driving the momentum. However, the disjointed screenplay and reliance on formulaic romance weaken the overall impact. While Baaghi 4 raises expectations with its star cast and scale, it leaves viewers questioning whether the franchise has truly evolved or is simply recycling its past glory.
