She made these remarks while addressing a programme titled “Empowerment of Tribal Society by Spiritual Awakening,” organized by the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya in Betul, Madhya Pradesh.

During her address, the President highlighted the growing relevance of spirituality in an increasingly fast-paced and consumer-driven world. She observed that modern society is facing rising levels of stress, social fragmentation, and conflict, making spiritual awareness and inner purity more important than ever. According to her, spirituality serves as a guiding force that promotes equality, sustainable living, and responsible use of natural resources.

President Murmu emphasized that tribal communities in India naturally embody many of these spiritual and ecological values. She noted that their lifestyle is deeply connected to nature, fostering a sense of balance, sustainability, and collective well-being. This close relationship with the environment, she said, reflects an inherent understanding of environmental responsibility that is increasingly vital in addressing global challenges such as climate change and resource depletion.

The President also appreciated the efforts of the Brahma Kumaris organization, noting their long-standing work in engaging with tribal communities across various regions of the country. She said such initiatives play a meaningful role in enhancing both social and spiritual development at the grassroots level.

Highlighting a broader vision of empowerment, President Murmu stated that true progress cannot be measured only through economic indicators. Instead, real empowerment is achieved when individuals develop self-confidence, dignity, and awareness of their responsibilities toward society. She stressed that spiritual awakening helps individuals discover inner strength, cultivate positive thinking, and align their lives with higher moral purpose.

She further noted that development becomes truly meaningful only when it remains connected to cultural heritage and core civilizational values. Modern advancement, she said, should not replace tradition but should instead draw strength from it, ensuring that growth remains balanced, inclusive, and socially grounded.

Calling for collective national effort, the President urged citizens to contribute toward the vision of a developed India by 2047. She emphasized that this goal can only be achieved through a combination of economic progress, moral responsibility, environmental awareness, and social unity.

President Murmu concluded that India’s path to development must be holistic in nature, ensuring that progress benefits all sections of society while preserving the country’s cultural identity and strengthening its social fabric.

The post Murmu Stresses Balance of Progress and Values first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

According to ISRO Chairman V Narayanan, the space agency has joined forces with the Department of Atomic Energy to develop advanced artificial heating systems designed to protect lunar landers from the Moon’s severe temperature fluctuations.

Speaking at the CSIR-RISE Conclave in Bengaluru, Narayanan explained that Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander, which relied primarily on solar energy, was able to function on the lunar surface for approximately 14 Earth days. The mission’s operational timeline corresponded with the duration of a single lunar day, after which the extreme cold of the lunar night posed substantial challenges to the spacecraft’s survival.

Drawing on the experience gained from Chandrayaan-3, ISRO is now focused on building a next-generation lunar lander capable of remaining operational for nearly 200 days. The proposed heating technology is expected to shield onboard systems from freezing temperatures, allowing spacecraft to withstand the Moon’s harsh environment for extended periods. Such an advancement could open the door to longer scientific investigations and more ambitious exploration objectives.

The Moon experiences dramatic temperature variations because its day-night cycle differs considerably from that of Earth. A lunar day and night each last about 14 Earth days. During daylight hours, temperatures can climb to nearly 121 degrees Celsius, while nighttime conditions can plunge to approximately minus 129 degrees Celsius. These extreme conditions make thermal management one of the most critical aspects of designing sustainable lunar missions.

Narayanan also highlighted the importance of collaboration in advancing India’s space ambitions. ISRO and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) have identified 40 areas for joint technological development. Of these, 17 projects have already received approval for implementation during the initial phase of cooperation.

Beyond lunar exploration, ISRO has expanded its partnerships with other scientific organizations, including the Department of Science and Technology and private-sector entities, to develop space medicine capabilities for the upcoming Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission. The agency has also collaborated with the Department of Biotechnology on microgravity research conducted during the Axiom-4 mission to the International Space Station, where experiments were carried out by Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla.

These initiatives reflect India’s growing emphasis on innovation, interdisciplinary research, and long-term space exploration capabilities as it prepares for future missions beyond Earth’s orbit.

The post ISRO, DAE join hands on advanced lunar lander technology first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

The proposed fixture is expected to be formally announced during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Sydney scheduled between July 8 and July 10, marking a significant moment in sporting ties between the two cricketing nations.

If confirmed, the initiative would bring Australia’s premier T20 league to one of the sport’s largest and most passionate audiences. The move is seen as a major step forward in strengthening cricketing and cultural engagement between India and Australia, two countries with deeply rooted sporting connections.

Reports from Australia suggest that the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai has emerged as the leading choice to host the historic season-opening match. The venue was identified earlier this year by Cricket Australia following initial consultations with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, both of which are said to have responded positively to the proposal.

As part of the evaluation process, a delegation from Cricket Australia visited Chennai to assess the stadium’s readiness during an Indian Premier League match involving Chennai Super Kings. Senior cricket officials, including BCCI leadership, were also present during the inspection, highlighting the seriousness of the discussions around hosting the fixture.

Early deliberations had reportedly considered the possibility of staging multiple Big Bash League games in India. However, logistical constraints and scheduling challenges have since reduced the plan to a single marquee season-opening match.

Defending champions Perth Scorchers are among the teams being considered to participate in the proposed encounter, which would serve as a showcase event for the league in an international market.

However, organizers face a key challenge regarding timing. The traditional start of the BBL season falls in December, a period that coincides with the monsoon and winter rainfall patterns in Chennai. Weather uncertainty is expected to play a crucial role in finalizing the arrangement, as stakeholders work to ensure suitable playing conditions.

If finalized, the match would represent an unprecedented expansion of the BBL’s global footprint and further underline the growing trend of cross-border collaborations in franchise cricket. The proposal also reflects the increasing commercial and cultural convergence between cricket boards seeking to tap into wider international audiences while strengthening bilateral sporting relations.

The post PM Modi to unveil plan for first BBL match in India first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

Speaking at the 10th Industry Connect event organized by IN-SPACe in Ahmedabad, ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan stated that the country will require more than 200 additional satellites over the next three years. With only 56 satellites currently operational in orbit, he emphasized that achieving this target will require contributions far beyond ISRO’s own capabilities.

Narayanan underscored the importance of building a collaborative ecosystem that includes private enterprises, emerging start-ups, educational institutions, and research organizations. According to him, ISRO’s role is evolving from being the sole driver of India’s space initiatives to becoming a facilitator that nurtures innovation and supports external stakeholders. He noted that the country’s expanding network of more than 400 space-focused start-ups reflects the positive impact of policy reforms introduced in recent years.

Looking ahead, Narayanan reiterated India’s commitment to establishing an indigenous space station by 2035. The planned facility, expected to weigh approximately 52 tonnes, represents one of the country’s most ambitious long-term projects and signals India’s intention to strengthen its presence among leading spacefaring nations.

He also reflected on the remarkable evolution of India’s space journey, which began with modest sounding rocket experiments and has progressed to sophisticated planetary exploration missions and commercial launch services. Landmark achievements such as Chandrayaan-1, Chandrayaan-2, Chandrayaan-3, the Mars Orbiter Mission, and the Aditya-L1 solar mission have enhanced India’s reputation within the global scientific community. In particular, Chandrayaan-3 secured India’s place in history by accomplishing a successful landing near the Moon’s south pole.

Narayanan further highlighted India’s growing stature in the commercial launch market, recalling missions that carried substantial international payloads aboard Indian rockets. He noted that satellite technologies now support critical sectors, including telecommunications, banking, disaster preparedness, healthcare, education, and navigation services.

In another significant development, IN-SPACe signed an agreement with the Government of Tamil Nadu to establish a Common Technical Facility within the upcoming Space Vehicles Cluster at SIPCOT Allikulam. Designed for manufacturing, testing, and integrating launch vehicle systems, the shared infrastructure aims to strengthen India’s production capabilities through coordinated efforts between central and state authorities.

The Ahmedabad gathering brought together policy experts, industry representatives, and entrepreneurs, reflecting the collective momentum behind India’s aspirations to expand its footprint in the rapidly evolving global space economy.

The post ISRO Chairman: India needs 200-plus satellites in 3 years first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

The discussions took place during the 12th session of the India-Tajikistan Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, conducted through a virtual platform.

During the meeting, Indian Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal emphasized the importance of converting the strong diplomatic relationship and longstanding friendship between the two nations into meaningful economic achievements. He highlighted the need for greater engagement in areas such as trade facilitation, investment promotion, improved market access, regulatory coordination and stronger connections between businesses from both countries.

The session was jointly led by Mohit Yadav, Joint Secretary in India’s Department of Commerce, and Nuriddinzoda Ahliddin Nuriddin, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan. Officials from both sides reviewed the progress made since the previous meeting and identified new opportunities to advance bilateral cooperation.

India also outlined its robust economic performance, noting that the country’s gross domestic product expanded by 7.7% during fiscal year 2026. Total exports during the same period were estimated at approximately $863 billion, including around $442 billion in merchandise shipments and nearly $421 billion generated through services exports. These figures underscored India’s growing role in international trade and its capacity to deepen economic engagement with global partners.

Representatives from both nations examined trends in bilateral trade and identified several sectors with strong potential for future collaboration. Pharmaceuticals, healthcare, agriculture, food processing, energy solutions, digital technologies and services were highlighted as priority areas capable of driving stronger economic ties.

India’s exports to Tajikistan recorded notable growth during fiscal year 2026, increasing by 27.23% compared with the previous year to approximately $58.12 million. Pharmaceutical products, including drug formulations and biologicals, accounted for a significant share of these exports. Other major categories included pulses, industrial machinery, medical devices, tea, traditional wellness products and refrigeration equipment.

Beyond trade, the two countries explored opportunities in information technology, tourism, innovation ecosystems, start-up development, renewable energy projects, hydropower initiatives, mining, critical minerals, textiles, leather manufacturing, logistics and banking services. Both sides agreed to enhance regulatory cooperation, encourage direct interaction between businesses and address market access challenges to create a more supportive environment for investment.

The meeting concluded with the signing of the protocol for the 12th session, reaffirming the determination of both governments to foster sustainable growth through stronger commercial, industrial and economic partnerships in the years ahead.

The post India Tajikistan Strengthen Economic Partnership and Trade first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

In a formal letter, she noted that the achievement reflected the consistent trust placed in his leadership by voters across successive elections.

She observed that the role of Prime Minister demands exceptional dedication, resilience, and perseverance, describing it as one of the most challenging responsibilities in public life. According to her, the milestone represented not only the duration of service but also the strong confidence citizens have repeatedly shown in his leadership.

The President highlighted that India has undergone significant transformation across multiple sectors over the past 12 years. She pointed to increased participation of women in financial inclusion initiatives and emphasized the growing use of digital technology in governance, which she said has improved transparency, accountability, and efficiency in delivering public services.

She further noted that welfare schemes have reached citizens more effectively, strengthening trust between the government and the people. Development initiatives, she said, have increasingly focused on public participation, dignity, and equal opportunity, particularly in areas such as poverty alleviation, healthcare, agriculture, and support for the middle class.

Among key programmes, she specifically mentioned the PM-JANMAN initiative for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), calling it a significant effort to ensure that development benefits reach some of the most marginalized communities. She also highlighted ongoing improvements in infrastructure and development outcomes in eastern and northeastern regions of the country.

President Murmu also described Prime Minister Modi’s journey from modest beginnings to the highest elected office as an inspiring reflection of India’s democratic system. She said it demonstrated that public life remains accessible to those committed to service, hard work, and dedication.

Concluding her message, she expressed confidence that under his leadership, India would continue progressing toward the national goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat, reinforcing the vision of a self-reliant and developed nation.

The post President congratulates PM Modi on historic PM milestone first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

The discussions focused on investment expansion, supply chain resilience, and emerging frontier technologies.

In one of his key interactions, the ambassador met Chris Nicholas, President and Chief Executive Officer of Walmart, to review the company’s growing investment footprint in India. The discussions centered on long-term business strategies, market expansion opportunities, and strengthening resilient supply chains that can support global trade stability. Walmart’s continued engagement in India reflects the broader trend of increasing corporate interest in one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies.

Kwatra also held a forward-looking discussion with Ylli Bajraktari, President and CEO of the Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP), an organization focused on advanced technology policy and innovation. Their conversation explored the future trajectory of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and advanced “physical AI” systems. The meeting took place ahead of Bajraktari’s planned visit to New Delhi for the India-US Forum, where technological collaboration is expected to be a central agenda item.

The ambassador emphasized the expanding scope of India-US cooperation in the digital and innovation space, highlighting the importance of joint progress in critical technologies that are shaping the global economy. Both sides discussed how deeper collaboration could support innovation ecosystems and strengthen technological competitiveness in both nations.

Alongside economic and technology-focused engagements, Kwatra also met senior US counter-terrorism official Sebastian Gorka to discuss shared security concerns. The talks underscored ongoing cooperation between India and the United States in addressing global terrorism and evolving security threats. The discussions referenced frameworks established in recent bilateral agreements aimed at enhancing intelligence sharing and coordinated counter-terrorism efforts.

The meeting also reflected broader commitments made by both countries to combat extremist networks and prevent the use of their territories for terrorist activities. These commitments include cooperation against groups such as Al-Qaida, ISIS, and Pakistan-based terror organizations, as well as efforts to disrupt financing and logistical networks supporting such groups.

Recent developments, including the extradition of individuals linked to major terror attacks, were highlighted as evidence of growing operational coordination between the two nations. Both sides reiterated their intent to strengthen joint efforts against terrorism while expanding cooperation on weapons non-proliferation and global security challenges.

Collectively, these engagements illustrate the multi-dimensional nature of the India-US partnership, spanning technology, trade, investment, and security cooperation, and reinforcing a shared commitment to long-term strategic alignment.

The post India US Envoy Strengthens Tech Security Cooperation Ties first appeared on Global Indian News Network.
