Director Atlee, known for his recent blockbuster Jawan, disclosed that Hollywood professionals expressed interest in his work following the film’s remarkable success. However, he declined these lucrative offers, firmly believing that filmmaking should be fueled by passion, not financial gain.
In an interview with Film Companion, Atlee delved into his filmmaking philosophy, underscoring the role of love in his craft. He stated, “Love is paramount in my work. There’s no mathematical formula for what I do. My craft revolves around love. If I don’t have a deep connection with something, I can’t creatively bring it to life. So, I must fall in love.”
He added, “Honesty is intertwined with love. I’m not for sale, but you can embrace me with love, and I can reciprocate. Without love, I can’t create anything.”
Atlee revealed that professionals from Hollywood witnessed his film, including action director Spiro Razatos. Spiro inquired about the scene where SRK is engulfed in flames and attributed its execution to Atlee’s vision. Impressed, they expressed interest in working with him in Hollywood, recognizing the global appeal of his work.
Discussing Jawan’s success, it amassed a remarkable collection of $130 million globally, with $74 million coming from the domestic market. The film’s domestic earnings surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s previous film, Pathaan, which had grossed $72 million.
