Indian American Aparna Chennapragada has assumed the role of Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, where she leads generative artificial intelligence (AI) endeavors for Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Designer. Microsoft’s CEO and Chairman, Satya Nadella, extended a warm welcome to her, expressing anticipation of her contributions.
Chennapragada articulated her enthusiasm for leveraging generative AI to create products that effortlessly translate intent and creativity into reality. She stated her focus on AI-first creation experiences spanning Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Designer.
She underscored her passion for developing and scaling products that combine robust technology with intuitive user experiences to solve customer challenges, recognizing the potential of generative AI to redefine creativity and productivity.
Chennapragada’s extensive career includes stints at Robinhood, Google, eBay, and Akamai Technologies. At Google, she ascended from a product manager to Vice President and General Manager for consumer shopping, with leadership roles in augmented reality and visual search products. She also served on the board of Capital One.
Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology – Madras, an M.S. in computer science from the University of Texas, Austin, and another master’s in management and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
