Chicago-based Cloud5 Communications appointed Anai Patel as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on September 12. This announcement followed Patel’s recent assumption of the CFO role within the company, highlighting the swiftness of the appointment. Cloud5 Communications specializes in providing communication and technology solutions to over 5,000 establishments, including hotels, multi-dwelling units, and commercial facilities throughout the Americas.
Mark Holzberg, President and CEO of Cloud5 Communications, underscored the significance of Patel’s addition to the team, emphasizing the company’s commitment to having a skilled and knowledgeable workforce. Holzberg expressed eagerness in leveraging Patel’s expertise and experience to drive further growth in the market.
In response to his appointment, Anai Patel expressed his enthusiasm for joining Cloud5 and leveraging his strategic financial background to guide the company. He envisions his role encompassing the exploration of new industry opportunities, expansion of product offerings, and the creation of solutions aimed at helping customers optimize their IT and telecommunications assets, thereby enhancing their end-customer experiences. Notably, he succeeded Rupal Patel (no relation) as CFO, with Rupal transitioning into a part-time finance and advisory role with a focus on Cloud5’s contact center business unit.
Patel’s educational background comprises a degree in business mathematics and statistics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Before joining Cloud5 Communications, he accumulated valuable experience at Essentra, a UK-headquartered, Chicago-based company. There, he progressed through various roles, ultimately reaching the position of VP of Finance after starting as a corporate development director.
Patel’s career journey also includes stints in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and project finance during his time at KPMG. Additionally, he has been involved in public policy and strategic finance within the UK’s HM Treasury, as evident from his LinkedIn profile. These diverse experiences have equipped him with a robust skill set for his role as Cloud5 Communications’ CFO.
