During the launch event of the Observer Research Foundation’s (ORF) Foreign Policy Survey in the national capital, Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized India’s commitment to maintaining global friendships while prioritizing national security.
Shah highlighted the historical absence of a clear internal security policy in India until 2014, noting that any existing policies were overshadowed by the nation’s foreign affairs agenda.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Shah asserted that India’s foreign policy objectives have become more defined, with an emphasis on safeguarding the nation’s security interests.
He reiterated India’s stance of fostering international friendships without compromising the safety of its citizens and territory, stressing that Modi has effectively communicated the country’s internal and external security policies to the global community.
Regarding border security, Shah emphasized its pivotal role in national security, emphasizing the government’s efforts to fortify borders through various measures, including enhanced connectivity and multidimensional policies.
Shah also highlighted the Vibrant Village Programme initiated by Prime Minister Modi, which aims to transform villages along India’s borders. The program, he noted, has instilled confidence among rural communities by prioritizing their development and ensuring the implementation of government schemes in border areas.
