He remarked that Trump’s life is devoted to America and drew a comparison between Trump’s “America First” policy and his own “India First” approach, underscoring their mutual focus on national interests.
Modi reminisced about the 2019 Howdy Modi event in Houston, where Trump joined him in addressing a packed stadium of Indian-Americans. He highlighted Trump’s humility in sitting among the audience as Modi spoke and noted the mutual trust when Trump agreed to walk around the stadium with him despite strict security protocols.
He also recalled his first White House visit, where Trump broke protocol to personally give him a tour, discussing historical details without notes or assistance. “It showed how deeply he respected America’s history and Presidency,” Modi remarked.
PM Modi shared that even after Trump’s first term ended, their bond remained strong, with Trump frequently sending warm regards. He also observed that Trump is more prepared for his second run, with a clear roadmap for his goals.
During his recent US visit, Modi met with Elon Musk, US Vice President JD Vance, Tulsi Gabbard, and Vivek Ramaswamy. His discussion with Musk was particularly warm, as Musk was accompanied by his family. Modi mentioned Musk’s excitement over his DOGE mission and expressed confidence in Trump’s team’s capabilities.
