Amazon India to Invest $233M in Ops Network in 2025
Amazon India announced on Thursday that it will invest over ₹2,000 crore (approximately $233 million USD) in 2025 to expand and modernize its operations infrastructure. The investment will focus on improving fulfillment capacity, associate safety and well-being, and deploying advanced technology across its logistics network.
The new investment builds on Amazon’s long-standing commitment to establishing a best-in-class delivery network that reaches all serviceable pin codes across India.
“For over a decade now in India, we have been focused on building the best-in-class logistics infrastructure — designed to deliver with safety, speed, scale, and reliability for our customers across the country,” said Abhinav Singh, Vice President of Operations for Amazon India and Australia.
“By strengthening our infrastructure capabilities, enhancing processing capacity, and implementing state-of-the-art technology, we’re positioning Amazon to better serve customers throughout India while supporting our employees, associates, and partners who are the heart of it all,” he added.
Amazon plans to use this $233 million investment to launch new sites and upgrade existing ones across its fulfillment, sortation, and delivery network. These upgrades aim to boost processing capacity, reduce delivery times, and improve overall operational efficiency.
In addition to infrastructure enhancements, Amazon said it would continue expanding its initiatives to support the health and financial well-being of employees and associates across the country.
The announcement aligns with Amazon’s broader India growth strategy. At the fifth edition of its annual Smbhav Summit in December 2024, the company pledged to increase its exports commitment to over $80 billion cumulatively by 2030.
Amazon also allocated $120 million from its Smbhav Venture Fund to support Indian startups focused on digitizing consumer products. Its 2025 commitments also include:
-
Digitising 10 million MSMEs
-
Generating $20 billion in cumulative exports
-
Creating 2 million jobs in India
Amazon’s fresh capital infusion reinforces its confidence in India as a critical market and its continued drive to build a resilient, high-tech, and inclusive logistics ecosystem
