Dr. Ajay K. Nangia, an Indian American urologist, has been honored with a presidential citation by the American Urological Association (AUA). This recognition, set to be presented at the annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas, in May, acknowledges Dr. Nangia’s notable contributions to male reproductive medicine and surgery. Serving as a professor of urology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, he holds a unique position as the sole fellowship-trained male infertility specialist in the metropolitan Kansas City area, boasting a decade of expertise.
Dr. Nangia’s involvement extends to various prestigious organizations, including the American Urological Association, Society of Male Reproduction and Urology, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, American College of Surgeons, and Society of University Urologists. Additionally, he holds the role of president-elect for the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology (ASRM). Previously, he chaired the ethics committee of the American Society of Andrology and served as a liaison for the CDC (Center for Disease Control) concerning male reproduction.
Dr. Nangia achieved his medical degree from St. Thomas and Guy’s Hospital Medical School in London, UK, as part of his educational background. After conducting research at Yale University for a period of two years, he finished his residency in urology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Subsequently, he undertook a fellowship in male infertility and microsurgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.
