Chiratae Ventures announced Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen as the recipient of the Global Lifetime Achievement Award during a ceremony in Palo Alto on September 16, 2024. Narayen was recognized for his nearly two decades of leadership at Adobe, steering the company through significant technological shifts, including its transition to cloud computing and its expansion into digital experiences. The award celebrates global leaders’ impact on India’s tech entrepreneurial ecosystem.
In addition to Narayen, the venture capital firm honored Postman CEO and Founder Abhinav Asthana with the Exceptional Entrepreneurial Achievement Award for his work in expanding the company globally. Infosys Founder Narayana Murthy received the India Lifetime Achievement Award during a separate event in Bangalore, recognizing his role in scaling Infosys and democratizing wealth in India through employee equity distribution.
The awards were presented as part of the Chiratae Ventures Patrick J. McGovern Awards, named after the anchor investor of Chiratae’s first fund and a visionary in global technology media. Sudhir Sethi, Founder and Chairman of Chiratae Ventures, emphasized McGovern’s influence on India’s tech ecosystem and the exceptional contributions of the awardees.
Pat McGovern III, Chair of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, praised the honorees for their transformative leadership and innovation. Past award recipients include notable figures such as John Chambers, Indra Nooyi, and Ratan Tata.
