More than 300 employees from Adani Airports, trained in handling large crowds, have volunteered at the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, the world’s largest human gathering. They are part of a larger initiative by the Adani Group, which has deployed over 5,000 of its employees as volunteers, or sevaks, to ensure smooth operations during the event.
The airport staff, skilled in logistics, customer service, and managing high-footfall areas, are playing a key role in assisting millions of devotees. According to a senior official, these volunteers are helping pilgrims navigate the event, maintaining cleanliness, and managing the flow of crowds at busy locations such as ghats. Their professional expertise in handling large-scale operations makes them a valuable asset at this iconic religious gathering.
A volunteer expressed pride in being part of this initiative, emphasizing that their involvement at the Maha Kumbh aligns with their dedication to serving people and giving back to the community.
Additionally, the Adani Group has implemented several programs to enhance the pilgrim experience. In collaboration with ISKCON and Gita Press, the company has distributed free meals and devotional literature to attendees. Through the Mahaprasad Seva program, launched in partnership with ISKCON, over 100,000 sanctified meals are being served daily at 40 locations during the 45-day festival.
Gautam Adani, the group’s chairman, referred to the Maha Kumbh as a sacred land of service, expressing his gratitude for contributing to this charitable initiative. He highlighted the blessings of Maa Annapurna and the significance of Mahaprasad Seva in serving lakhs of devotees.
In a LinkedIn post, Adani also drew leadership lessons from the Kumbh Mela, underscoring principles like “scale with soul,” “inclusive growth,” and “cultural confidence.” These ideals, he said, reflect the event’s magnitude and ethos, serving as a blueprint for leadership and management practices.
