Americans4Hindus (A4H), a national grassroots organization promoting political empowerment for Hindu Americans, hosted the historic Americans4Hindus Week in Washington, DC, from November 5–9, 2025. The weeklong event featured a National Summit, Leadership Retreat, and multiple engagement sessions aimed at amplifying the Hindu American voice in U.S. politics. Participants included delegates, trustees, and representatives from 18 state chapters nationwide.
A symbolic moment unfolded when a sudden U.S. Capitol shutdown forced the group to abandon its reserved meeting space. Instead of postponing, attendees gathered outside the Capitol, turning the setback into a show of unity and resilience. Dr. Romesh Japra, Founder and Chairman of A4H, addressed the crowd, affirming that American Hindus are ready to take an active role in shaping the nation’s political future. “We’ve contributed immensely to IT, medicine, business, and education—now it’s time to serve in governance, from local boards to the Presidency,” he stated.
Highlighting a key concern, A4H noted that Hindu Americans, despite being among the nation’s highest income-earning and most educated communities, remain underrepresented in public offices. In a later session, Congressman Suhas Subramanyam urged attendees to take ownership of their civic engagement, emphasizing that visibility and organization are crucial for meaningful representation.
The week also hosted a strategic roundtable uniting diverse Indian American organizations across cultural, business, professional, and political sectors. Spearheaded by Dr. Suvas Desai of Kentucky, this coalition aims to amplify the collective influence of the Indian diaspora in shaping U.S. policy and public life.
Delegates also paid tribute to the late Krishna Srinivasa, a pioneer of Hindu political mobilization, whose decades-long advocacy inspired the present-day movement.
At the Leadership Retreat, held at the Art of Living Center, participants crafted a national roadmap featuring initiatives such as the Hindu Rajneeti Academy, Hindu Voter Guide, HBSJ Congressional Caucus, and Rakṣhak Civil Rights Wing. Attendees pledged their time, expertise, and resources to advance these programs nationwide.
A major milestone of the week was the launch of the National Hindu-Jewish Coalition of America (HJCA), promoting interfaith cooperation, civil liberties, and democratic values. Coordinated by Nissim Reuben as its first Executive Director, the coalition aims to build bridges between Hindu and Jewish communities through policy, advocacy, and cultural collaboration.
Americans4Hindus continues to inspire political engagement, with a clear message: American Hindus are not just participating—they are ready to lead.
