Ayodhya is all set to host one of its most spectacular Deepotsav celebrations yet, with organizers planning to illuminate over 2.6 million diyas across the city. The festival commemorates Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh emphasized that this year’s event aims to be the “grandest ever,” incorporating modern technology to revive the spirit of Treta Yuga.
Preparations have been finalized, including procurement of diyas, oil, wicks, and other essentials. Jayendra Kumar, CEO of Shree Ayodhya Jee Teerth Vikas Parishad and Municipal Commissioner, confirmed that sanitation, toilets, and decorations are fully arranged by Nagar Nigam Ayodhya. Multiple welcoming gates will be constructed to enhance visitor experience.
The festivities are scheduled from October 18 to 20, with the main event on October 19. The celebration will feature a 45-minute spectacular at Ram Ki Paidi, combining projection mapping, laser effects, fireworks, music, and storytelling performed by over 100 artists. This year, the Saryu River ghats will glow with more than 2.6 million diyas, aiming for a Guinness World Record.
Officials highlighted that the festival will also host drone shows and synchronized light-sound displays, ensuring an unforgettable experience for both domestic and international tourists. The event aligns with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to restore Ayodhya’s historical grandeur.
Realizing the scale of Deepotsav 2025, authorities are working on a war footing to guarantee flawless execution. Minister Singh reiterated that the festival will surpass all previous editions, offering a dazzling showcase of culture, devotion, and technological innovation. Tourists and devotees alike can expect a mesmerizing spectacle, celebrating faith, heritage, and the timeless story of Lord Ram.
