Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong and direct message to Pakistan, calling on its citizens to take action against terrorism. During a rally in Bhuj, Gujarat, Modi questioned the gains Pakistan has made from supporting terrorism, contrasting it with India’s rise as the world’s fourth-largest economy. “What has terrorism brought you?” he asked. “India has surged ahead. Where are you?”
He appealed to the people of Pakistan, particularly the youth, to help rid their nation of terrorism. “Live a life of peace, eat your bread quietly,” he said, adding pointedly, “Otherwise, my bullets are ready.” This warning underscores India’s firm stance on counterterrorism.
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar echoed Modi’s sentiments, stating that terrorism in Pakistan is an open operation—planned, financed, and executed with state and military support. He emphasized that terrorist organizations are not hiding but functioning openly in cities and towns. “This isn’t a covert affair,” Jaishankar stated, citing the UN Security Council’s extensive list of Pakistani-based terrorists and locations that have been directly targeted.
Earlier the same day, PM Modi addressed a crowd in Dahod, reiterating his government’s tough approach to terror. Referring to the recent Indian military action called Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the April 22 terror strike in Pahalgam, he stated that this was more than just a tactical response. “When someone tries to erase the sindoor of our sisters, their end becomes inevitable,” he said. He noted that Operation Sindoor symbolizes India’s military prowess as well as the emotional and cultural values underpinning such decisive actions.
Through his strong rhetoric and decisive action, Modi conveyed a clear message—terrorism will be met with both emotional resolve and military precision, and it is up to Pakistan’s citizens to choose a path of peace and progress.
