Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Gujarat, declared that Operation Sindoor — India’s decisive military action on May 7 against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) — was not just a military operation but a powerful expression of the nation’s values and the collective sentiment of 140 crore Indians.
Speaking at a public rally in Dahod, PM Modi lauded the Indian armed forces for their swift and bold action. “If anyone dares to wipe off the sindoor of our sisters, their end is certain. That’s why Operation Sindoor is not just a military operation but also a reflection of our values and the deep emotions we hold close to our hearts,” he said.
Linking the operation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people lost their lives, PM Modi said that India would not remain silent in the face of such brutality. “Can India remain silent after what the terrorists did in Pahalgam? Can Modi remain silent?” he asked, to loud applause.
He explained that the Indian military destroyed nine major terrorist camps across the border within just 22 minutes. “When the Pakistani Army responded, our forces retaliated fiercely and crushed their efforts,” he added.
This marked PM Modi’s first visit to Gujarat after the launch of Operation Sindoor. He used the platform to condemn Pakistan’s long-standing policy of anti-India sentiment since partition. “Their only aim was to hate India and block our growth. But we have only one aim — to progress, to end poverty, and to build a Viksit Bharat,” he stated.
PM Modi also emphasized the need for both a strong military and economy to build a truly developed India, reiterating the government’s commitment to this goal.
In his latest ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episode, the Prime Minister had already highlighted that Operation Sindoor was not merely a military campaign but represented the face of a changing, resolute India. He praised the precision of the strikes and lauded the indigenous defence systems that powered the successful mission.
