Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday highlighted the swift and decisive retaliation by India’s security forces following the April 22 terror attack, which saw nine notorious terror camps eliminated within just 22 minutes under the banner of Operation Sindoor. He described this operation as a new form of justice for terrorists and those who support them, while also outlining a comprehensive three-pronged approach to counter terrorism.
Addressing the nation, PM Modi stated, “Whenever a terror attack occurs on Indian soil, the adversary will be met with a strong and appropriate response. Our armed forces will have the authority to decide the target, timing, and method of retaliation.”
He elaborated on the second pillar of the strategy, affirming India’s resolve to remain unshaken by any threats involving nuclear blackmail. The third, he said, involves holding terrorists, their masterminds, and their sponsoring governments to a unified standard of judgment.
Emphasizing the failure of Pakistan’s strategy of mixing state and non-state actors as a shield for supporting terror, PM Modi warned that such tactics will no longer succeed in hiding the country’s overt backing of terrorism.
“This is the era of New Bharat, and Operation Sindoor symbolizes our updated doctrine. Acts of terror will be met with firm and unequivocal responses,” the Prime Minister declared.
With stern resolve, he said, “Those who attacked our sisters and tried to wipe away their sindoor, we have razed them to the ground. This is a new kind of justice — ‘Yeh Operation Sindoor hai’.”
Reflecting on India’s increasingly forceful posture over the last decade, Modi noted, “Earlier, we struck inside their territory, but this time, we hit them at the very heart.”
He pointed out the psychological impact of Operation Sindoor on the enemy: “Those who expected silence from India now tremble in fear. Those who boasted about their weapons now suffer under the rubble.”
The Prime Minister also spoke of the unified spirit of the Indian people following the Pahalgam terror attack, stating that the entire nation of 1.4 billion has resolved to punish terrorists beyond what they can imagine.
“Thanks to our armed forces, Pakistan has been taught a hard lesson. Our government gave full operational freedom to our forces, and they brought Pakistan to its knees,” he added.
