Speaking from Bikaner, Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a powerful statement exactly one month after the tragic terrorist assault in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which occurred on April 22 and led to the death of 26 innocent civilians. The Prime Minister revealed that in retaliation, Indian forces demolished nine of the largest terror bases within just 22 minutes as part of a swift counter-operation dubbed Operation Sindoor.
He emotionally invoked the spirit of Rajasthan, stating that the region embodies the lesson that the nation’s honor comes before everything else. “On April 22, terrorists targeted our people based on their religion, attacking women and erasing their sindoor. These bullets didn’t just hurt the victims—they wounded the hearts of 1.4 billion Indians,” he said.
Modi further declared that the nation stood united in its commitment to avenge this brutality. He highlighted that, backed by the bravery of the armed forces, India delivered a powerful response—reducing terror camps to rubble in just 22 minutes. “If anyone dares to threaten our sisters, we retaliate with unimaginable strength,” he asserted.
He credited the success of the mission to the full operational freedom granted to all three branches of the armed forces. Their coordinated strategy compelled Pakistan to retreat in the face of overwhelming retaliation.
In addition to addressing national security, the Prime Minister’s visit to Bikaner also included a series of developmental announcements. He launched projects across vital sectors such as transport, energy, and water, cumulatively valued at over $3.1 billion. Modi inaugurated 103 modernised ‘Amrit Stations’ located across 86 districts in 18 different states and Union Territories. These stations alone cost nearly $132 million, part of a larger railway modernization effort.
Earlier that day, he flagged off the Bikaner-Mumbai Express and unveiled the redesigned Deshnoke Station, aligning with the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aimed at upgrading over 1,300 train stations to reflect local culture while enhancing passenger facilities.
