Amid the rising tensions between India and Pakistan, several Indian celebrities have spoken out about the ongoing ban on Pakistani artists in India. Celina Jaitly, the popular actress, expressed her thoughts, emphasizing that India’s national interests should always be the primary focus. She pointed out that while Pakistani artists benefit from India’s booming entertainment industry, they have largely remained silent about the terrorism their government allegedly supports.
Celina further added that these artists, who have a significant platform, have the ability to demand change and speak out against violence but have chosen silence. She asserted that until real accountability is enforced and efforts to dismantle terror networks are seen, India must maintain a firm stance and draw clear boundaries.
The backdrop to these comments is the aftermath of ‘Operation Sindoor,’ a military action taken by India in response to a recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. Many Bollywood personalities have shown their support for the Indian Armed Forces following the operation.
Shahid Kapoor, for example, posted a strong message on social media, sharing an image of an Indian Air Force aircraft and captioning it with, “India doesn’t provoke. But India never forgets,” along with the Indian flag emoji and the hashtag #OperationSindoor.
Iconic actor Kamal Haasan also shared a resolute statement, reflecting the sentiments of the nation. He wrote, “A proud India stands united with its armed forces. This is the response of a strong nation that will not be divided by cowardly acts of terror. I applaud the decisive military action taken by the Government of India. Jai Hind.”
In a similar vein, Ajay Devgn praised the operation and saluted the Indian armed forces and the Prime Minister, saying, “India stands tall and strong. Jai Hind!”
