The much-awaited mythological epic Kannappa, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by veteran actor Mohan Babu, is set for a global theatrical release on June 27, 2025. In light of the crucial North American market, especially the United States, Tollywood star Vishnu Manchu—who also leads the cast—will travel across major US cities this May to promote the film through a series of roadshows.
These promotional stops will include special events in local cinemas, with dates confirmed for three major cities: New Jersey on May 8, Dallas on May 9, and San Francisco on May 10. Specific venues and timings will be announced closer to the event. During these sessions, Vishnu Manchu will engage with the local Indian diaspora, sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes stills, clips from music recordings, and other sneak peeks that offer a deeper look into the making of this epic tale.
Kannappa draws inspiration from the mythological tale of the devoted follower of Lord Shiva, celebrated in Hindu tradition for his unwavering faith and sacrifice. The film is envisioned as a Pan-Indian cinematic spectacle and features an impressive lineup of stars. Vishnu Manchu plays the central role, supported by cameo appearances from top-tier names like Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar—who will be making his Telugu debut—and Kajal Aggarwal.
The film’s music is composed by the duo of Manisharma and Stephen Devassy, promising a rich and powerful soundtrack to accompany its grand visuals. Produced under the AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory banners by Vishnu Manchu himself, Kannappa was initially planned for an April 25 release but was postponed to allow for better global rollout and promotional preparation.
With this multi-city US tour, the team aims to generate strong buzz among overseas audiences and create anticipation ahead of the release of one of the most awaited mythological dramas in recent Indian cinema.
