New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra finished as the highest run-scorer of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, amassing 263 runs in four innings. His final contribution of 37 off 29 balls in the summit clash against India ensured he remained on top of the charts. India’s Shreyas Iyer followed closely with 243 runs from five innings, surpassing Virat Kohli to become India’s highest run-getter in the tournament. Kohli ended with 218 runs, placing him fifth on the list.
England’s Ben Duckett and Joe Root secured the third and fourth positions, with 227 and 225 runs, respectively. While both Kohli and Iyer had chances to surpass Ravindra, Iyer missed out on a fifty by just two runs in the final, and Kohli was dismissed for just one by Michael Bracewell.
Ravindra, who started the game at 226 runs, couldn’t capitalize on his start in the final and was bowled by Kuldeep Yadav’s googly in the 11th over. Earlier, New Zealand, led by captain Mitchell Santner, opted to bat first after winning the toss. India fielded an unchanged playing XI, while New Zealand replaced the injured Matt Henry with Nathan Smith.
This match also saw Rohit Sharma equaling Brian Lara’s record for most consecutive toss losses in ODIs, with his 12th straight defeat at the toss. Despite that, India managed to chase down New Zealand’s total and lift the Champions Trophy, adding another glorious chapter to their cricketing history.
