Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally in Garhwa, Jharkhand, urged voters to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for a “double-engine” government in the upcoming state assembly elections. Emphasizing the success of the BJP-led NDA in the recent Lok Sabha elections, Modi encouraged the people to vote similarly in Jharkhand to foster development aligned with the central government’s policies.
Addressing the crowd, PM Modi used the phrase, “Roti, Beti, Maati ki pukar, Jharkhand mein BJP-NDA Sarkar” to rally support for BJP-NDA leadership in Jharkhand. He greeted residents for the upcoming Chhath Puja, recognizing the festival’s importance across the state. Modi emphasized that these elections come at a time when India is advancing toward the goal of “Viksit Bharat.”
Launching a strong critique of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led coalition, Modi accused it of “appeasement politics” and supporting Bangladeshi infiltrators. He warned that this could endanger Jharkhand’s tribal population and described the coalition as a “Gushpaithiya Bandhan” or “coalition of infiltrators,” claiming that the current government was creating barriers to Central schemes for farmers and industries.
PM Modi also condemned policies allegedly hindering cultural and religious expressions, such as restricting Saraswati Vandana in schools and imposing curfews during festivals, asserting these measures threaten local traditions.
The Jharkhand Assembly elections are set for two phases, on November 13 and November 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23.
