In celebration of the 78th Independence Day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is rolling out a vibrant series of events, headlined by the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign from August 11 to August 15. This initiative will see BJP leaders and supporters marching through cities and towns nationwide from August 11 to August 14.
On August 14, the party will mark ‘Vibhajan Vivishika Diwas’ to honor the memories of Partition, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2021 declaration of this date as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. The campaign’s culmination from August 13 to August 15 will involve a widespread effort to ensure the Tricolour is proudly displayed on homes, offices, and shops across the country.
In his 112th ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address on July 28, Prime Minister Modi encouraged all citizens to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ and celebrate Independence Day by sharing selfies with the national flag on social media. He urged people to upload their selfies to ‘harghartiranga.com’ and invited suggestions for his Independence Day speech via the MyGov or NaMo App.
On August 15, the Ministry of Defence will kick off a monumental tree-planting drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, aiming to plant 1.5 million saplings nationwide, adding a green touch to the Independence Day celebrations.
