Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the pilgrims beginning their journey on the sacred Amarnath Yatra on Saturday.
This year’s annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath shrine commenced today and will span 52 days, concluding on August 19. PM Modi expressed his sincere wishes to all pilgrims embarking on the sacred Amarnath Yatra, highlighting the spiritual significance of worshiping Baba Barfani and wishing prosperity to all devotees.
The Baltal base camp in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir, welcomed its first group of Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims on Friday. One pilgrim expressed his excitement about being in the first group, highlighting the support provided by local Kashmiris and Security Forces. Another pilgrim shared his joy at being selected for the first batch, praising the arrangements made by local authorities and security personnel.
Pilgrims from across the country praised the excellent arrangements and expressed their gratitude to the Security Forces. Meanwhile, Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir, attended a meeting at SKICC with civil society members, organized by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Srinagar. The meeting focused on the arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra and Muharram.
The Amarnath Yatra involves a challenging trek to the Amarnath cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir, attracting hundreds of thousands of devotees each year. Given the recent terrorist attacks in the region, the government is making extensive efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of the pilgrims. The administration is taking all necessary measures to address security concerns and manage the difficult terrain along the route.
