Amitabh Bachchan, a stalwart of Bollywood, celebrates 55 years in the film industry since his debut in 1969 with “Saat Hindustani,” earning a National Film Award nomination for Best Newcomer for his portrayal of Anwar Ali.
Displaying his adaptability with the times, Bachchan unveils his artificial intelligence avatar on social media, featuring AI-generated images portraying him with a camera lens for an eye and film reels emerging from his head, shared on X (formerly Twitter) on February 17.
In 1969, he also lent his voice to “Bhuvan Shome,” a Hindi film directed by Mrinal Sen, starring Utpal Dutt and Suhasini Mulay. While his breakthrough came with a supporting role in “Anand” (1971), directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, alongside Rajesh Khanna.
However, it was the 1973 release of “Zanjeer” that transformed Bachchan’s career, earning him acclaim as Inspector Vijay Khanna and marking the beginning of his journey as the “Angry Young Man” of Hindi cinema. Subsequent decades saw iconic performances in films like “Deewaar,” “Sholay,” “Kabhi Kabhie,” “Amar Akbar Anthony,” and more.
Notably, Bachchan’s highest-grossing films emerged in the latter part of his career, with releases such as “Brahmastra,” “Thugs Of Hindostan,” “Badla,” “Piku,” and “Pink” showcasing his enduring popularity and versatility on the big screen.
