Mona Das, a leading Democratic contender for Washington Commissioner of Public Lands and former State Senator, has been appointed as the head of International Expansion for Global Woman & Co. Founded by entrepreneur Mirela Sula, the organization focuses on empowering women entrepreneurs worldwide through various platforms.
Global Woman & Co. offers an online membership and business school, a podcast, a magazine, a TV platform, an annual conference, and clubs in over 35 cities globally. Das expressed excitement about her global leadership role, aiming to enhance women’s engagement, improve capital access, and connect leaders addressing climate resiliency.
In her new position, Das plans to uplift women’s environmental leadership, encouraging global action against climate change. Her focus aligns with the organization’s goal to provide a platform for women to share ideas, foster resilience, and drive positive change.
Mirela Sula, the organization’s founder, praised Das’s leadership, emphasizing her commitment to inclusivity, especially for women of color. If elected as Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands, Das would make history as the first person of color in the U.S. to hold such a statewide position. Das has already achieved milestones, banning specific plastic products and initiating climate resilience projects.
Beyond her political pursuits, Das serves on the faculty at the Campaign School at Yale University and Bard College. As a small-business owner with an MBA in sustainable business, she is dedicated to environmental causes, amplifying women’s voices on the global stage.
