Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) achieves global recognition, securing the second position among solar PV developers, according to the Annual Global Report by Mercom Capital Group. The report, covering July 2022 to June 2023, highlights AGEL’s substantial contribution to the renewable energy sector. AGEL, with an impressive 18.1 GW of total solar capacity, closely follows France-based TotalEnergies, ranked first with 41.3 GW. Canada-based Brookfield Renewable Partners claims the third spot with 18 GW. AGEL’s notable position underscores its significant impact on the global solar energy landscape.
The top 10 global solar developers, collectively contributing 145 GW to operational, under-construction, and PPA-contracted solar projects, showcased substantial industry influence from July 2022 to June 2023. AGEL secured the second position with 18.1 GW solar capacity, emphasizing its pivotal role. Enel Green Power, Lightsource bp, AES Renewables, EDF Renewables, Invenergy, Iberdrola, and ib vogt followed in descending order. Among the top 10, six were European, three were North American, and AGEL represented South Asia. AGEL, India’s largest renewable energy partner, operates 8.4 GW across 12 states. Chairman Gautam Adani reaffirms a US$ 75 billion investment by 2030, envisioning 45 GW in renewable energy capacity, reinforcing AGEL’s role in India’s decarbonization journey.
