Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a Rashtriya Ekta Diwas event at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat’s Ekta Nagar, made strong remarks, accusing those engaged in “appeasement politics” of obstructing the country’s development and aligning with the enemies of humanity.
PM Modi stated that individuals practicing appeasement politics fail to recognize the severity of terrorism and are willing to support the enemies of humanity while hesitating to investigate terrorist activities. He emphasized that these individuals refrain from taking tough measures against anti-national elements and even resort to legal action to protect terrorists. He called for public awareness about such ideologies.
Furthermore, PM Modi cautioned against those involved in appeasement politics, suggesting that they are adopting methods that run counter to the nation’s interests. He made reference to the Opposition’s grand alliance, indicating their divisive tactics and self-serving agenda.
PM Modi also reminded the public of upcoming elections, including Lok Sabha polls in 2024, and noted that some politicians aim to profit by dividing India. He emphasized the importance of recognizing and countering such divisive tactics.
Regarding the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019, PM Modi expressed confidence that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel would have blessed the government’s decision. He pointed out the positive impact of this move on Kashmir, as it allowed the region to progress and free itself from the shackles of terrorism.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, was recognized for his role in unifying 562 princely states into the Republic of India. His birth anniversary is celebrated on October 31, and PM Modi honored his legacy during the event.
