Maju Varghese, a former Biden administration official, has assumed the role of Principal at NEWCO Strategies, a consulting firm recognized for its diverse leadership, primarily comprising women and LGBTQ individuals.
The announcement was made on social media by NEWCO Strategies, underscoring Maju’s extensive background, which includes service in the Biden and Obama Administrations, his role as the COO and Senior Advisor for the Biden 2020 campaign, and his leadership as the executive director of the Presidential Inaugural Committee.
In response to this new role, Maju conveyed his eagerness to provide guidance to leaders operating in today’s challenging environment. He stressed the importance of offering practical solutions, sound counsel, and expert assistance, drawing from his experience in managing through challenging periods.
Before joining NEWCO Strategies, Maju held the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), an organization dedicated to promoting democracy on a global scale. He also served as the Director and Deputy Assistant to the President at the White House Military Office, overseeing a team of 3,000 personnel responsible for vital White House services.
Furthermore, Maju played a crucial part as the COO and Senior Advisor during the Biden Campaign, where he oversaw numerous national operations, managed personnel, organized travel, conducted vetting procedures, and ensured compliance throughout the primary and general election phases.
Maju holds a Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Dean School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
