Alia Bhatt has announced her next project, “Jigra,” under the Dharma Productions banner, marking her journey from debut actress to producer. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film is a collaboration between Dharma Productions and Alia’s production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions. Accompanied by an animated teaser, the film is set to release in 2024. The teaser features Alia’s voiceover, pledging to protect someone from harm. Alia expressed her excitement about the project in a heartfelt caption. Industry friends, including Dia Mirza, Zareen Khan, Zoya Akhtar, and Bhumi Pednekar, congratulated her.
Karan Johar, in his caption, welcomed Alia back in the exceptional story helmed by Vasan Bala, describing it as a tale of unbreakable love and unwavering courage. “Jigra” is set to release on Sept 27, 2024.
Alia Bhatt, who made her debut with Karan Johar’s “Student Of The Year” in 2012, has also worked with him in “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” She ventured into production with “Darlings,” co-produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma. Vasan Bala, known for films like “Mard Ko Dard Nehi Hota” and “Monica, O My Darling,” has contributed to films such as “The Lunchbox” and “Rukh” as a dialogue writer and worked as a casting director on notable films like “Dev.D” and “That Girl in Yellow Boots.”
