Among them, Sneha Revanur, an 18-year-old Indian-American, stands out as the youngest honoree. She is known for her work as a leader of Encode Justice, a youth-driven initiative advocating for ethical AI. Her recent engagement with the Joe Biden Administration underscores her commitment to the cause. She has earned the moniker “Greta Thunberg of AI.”
Neal Khosla, who co-founded Curai Health, a telehealth startup in 2017, is another notable figure on the list. Additionally, Romesh and Sunil Wadhwani, Co-Founders of Wadhwani AI, are recognized for their contributions. Wadhwani AI, based in Mumbai, is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing AI solutions for societal benefit, spanning areas such as healthcare, education, and agriculture.
Tushita Gupta serves as the Chief Technology Officer of Refiberd, a US-based company focused on revolutionizing textile recycling through AI-driven identification of textile composition.
Kalika Bali, Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research India, is yet another Indian luminary on the list. Her dedication to overcoming language barriers in technology has been pivotal.
The TIME100 AI issue for 2023 features a global cover with illustrations by Neil Jamieson, featuring 28 individuals from the list, including figures like Dario and Daniela Amodei of Anthropic, Sam Altman of OpenAI, and Demis Hassabis of Google DeepMind, among others.
