The sports drama film “Ghoomer,” featuring actors Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher, garnered a standing ovation during its premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2023’s opening night.
“Ghoomer” is poised to be a cinematic marvel, interweaving emotion, drama, and pure entertainment. It presents an inspiring tale of human triumph against all odds. As the movie was unveiled for the very first time, the audience was captivated by the enchanting scenes unfolding on screen, leading to a resounding applause and a standing ovation.
During the opening night, Abhishek expressed his gratitude for the platform, stating, “I’m grateful for this platform for the world premiere of our film. Ghoomer is a labour of love. This has been Balki’s dream for a long time. I don’t think there’s any better way of giving back to a game you love so passionately, by making a film dedicated to it.”
The star-studded event witnessed a large and enthusiastic crowd, comprising both members of the film fraternity and eager fans. Notable personalities such as Kartik Aaryan, Vijay Varma, Mrunal Thakur, Anurag Kashyap, Rajshri Deshpande, Aparshakti Khurana, and Vikramaditya Motwane were in attendance.
Directed by the renowned R Balki, “Ghoomer” features Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher, Shabana Azmi, and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 18.
In the film, Abhishek portrays a coach whose life takes an unexpected turn upon encountering a paraplegic sportsperson, played by the talented Saiyami Kher. Their joint journey unfolds amidst societal challenges and personal struggles, guided by the distinct storytelling prowess of director R. Balki.
