Hopper HQ, a platform for scheduling Instagram content, has released its list of highest earners on the platform for the year 2023. This compilation includes celebrities, influencers, and sports figures. Notably, Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, is the sole Indian sports star to be featured on this list. Kohli occupies a position ahead of prominent figures like LeBron James from the Los Angeles Lakers and Neymar from Paris St. Germain soccer team.
Securing the third spot on the list, Kohli is ranked below soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who have both won the Ballon d’Or award. Hopper HQ reported that Kohli commanded around $1,384,000 (roughly INR 11.5 crores) for each sponsored post shared on his Instagram profile. On the platform, Kohli has endorsed various brands, including Essilor, HSBC, Vivo, Herbalife, Ocean Beverages, and MRF Corporate, among others.
Among the top 100 Instagram personalities, Kohli holds the 14th position in terms of revenue generated from promotional posts on the app. Priyanka Chopra is the only other Indian celebrity to make it onto this list.
Hopper HQ’s co-founder, Mike Bandar, expressed fascination at the yearly increase in Instagram earnings for global stars. He found it surprising that the top earners have remained consistent over the years, indicating that sports and entertainment celebrities still possess the ability to captivate audiences.
The list released by Hopper HQ disclosed that Ronaldo commands $3,234,000 for each post, Messi charges $2,597,000 per post, Selena Gomez, ranking third in the top 100 earners, earns $2,558,000 per post. Following closely is Kylie Jenner, earning $2,264,000, while Dwayne Johnson occupies the fifth spot with $2,326,000 per post.
