Wong expressed the government’s appreciation for the close collaboration with the Sikh community, highlighting their significant impact on Singapore despite their relatively small numbers. He emphasized that Sikhs have made significant contributions to the nation while maintaining their cultural, religious, and distinct identity.
The Deputy Prime Minister specifically commended the role of the Sikh Advisory Board in guiding the state on matters concerning the Sikh community, including religion, customs, and welfare issues. He acknowledged the board’s candid perspectives and views, affirming that the government takes their advice seriously.
