The New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF), which takes place in New York City from Thursday, May 11, to Sunday, May 14, is where Bollywood star Manoj Bajpayee will promote his forthcoming film. Since its first season in 2001, NYIFF has been the longest-running annual film festival in North America that serves the Indian diaspora.
The courtroom drama in Bajpayee’s movie is called Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. It will debut on Zee5 Global, an OTT service made specifically for South Asian programming, on May 23. In the film, Bajpayee will play high court attorney P.C. Solanki.
The plot of the film centers on the character played by Manoj Bajpayee, who overcame several obstacles on his own while pursuing a remarkable criminal case against the nation’s most well-known godman, ultimately succeeding in prosecuting him for the rape of a minor in accordance with POCSO legislation. Apoorva Singh Karki, who has helmed various OTT programs, is the film’s director. The movie’s inspiration may be seen in the trailer, which is accessible on Bajpayee’s Instagram profile and Zee5’s YouTube account. On May 8, it was formally introduced in Mumbai, India.
Bajpayee commented on his choice of film, “It is not only a great dramatic piece that we can write but also somewhere, being a daughter’s father, it kind of compelled me to be a part of it from the beginning, and I thank (producer) Vinod ji and (writer) Suparn for giving me this opportunity.”
