The White House has identified India as one of the countries with which the United States has secured improved trade arrangements, featuring the development in a list of 127 achievements attributed to President Donald Trump’s second administration. Released on Monday, November 2, on the eve of the US midterm elections, the document, titled President Trump’s Second Term: Promises Made, Promises Kept, Results Delivered, outlines the administration’s claimed accomplishments across domestic and international policy.
In its trade section, the administration highlighted agreements involving major economic partners, including India, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Japan, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Cambodia. According to the White House, these countries collectively represent more than half of global gross domestic product. It also credited Trump’s tariff policies with securing favorable conditions for American employees, farmers, and manufacturers.
However, the India-US trade arrangement has not yet reached the stage of a finalized agreement. Both governments announced a framework for an interim trade agreement in February, expressing their intention to establish mutually beneficial trading conditions. The framework also outlined plans to finalize a broader bilateral trade agreement.
India also appeared in the administration’s foreign policy achievements. The White House credited Trump with helping bring an end to eight international conflicts, including tensions between India and Pakistan. However, New Delhi has repeatedly rejected claims of American mediation following the May 2025 hostilities under Operation Sindoor. India maintains that the cessation of military action resulted from direct communication between the countries’ military operations chiefs, without third-party involvement.
Beyond trade and diplomacy, the document highlighted the administration’s border security measures, tax reforms, energy expansion, technological initiatives, and space exploration. It cited 98,708 southwest border apprehensions during fiscal year 2026, alongside tax deductions benefiting more than 53 million taxpayers. The administration also highlighted domestic oil and gas production, artificial intelligence initiatives, cryptocurrency legislation, and NASA’s Artemis II mission.
The report’s release coincides with the November 3 midterm elections, when Americans will elect all 435 House representatives and 35 senators. The results will determine congressional control and influence the direction of Trump’s remaining presidency.
