Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda are set to reunite with filmmaker Mohit Suri for a new feature film following their successful collaboration on Saiyaara. The upcoming project is scheduled to begin production in October and is being developed for a worldwide theatrical release in 2027.
According to Variety India, filming is expected to begin during the second week of October. While the project has reportedly been associated with the working title Satranga, the name has not been officially confirmed by the filmmakers. The title was reportedly registered with T-Series, but the production team has yet to announce whether it will ultimately be used for the movie.
The film was announced in April, with the studio describing it as an intense love story. Akshaye Widhani, who also produced Saiyaara, is backing the project. Although details surrounding the storyline are being closely guarded, the movie has previously been characterized as an unconventional romance incorporating action elements.
The new production will mark the second time Panday and Padda have worked together under Suri’s direction. Their first collaboration, Saiyaara, introduced both performers to leading roles, with Panday making his acting debut and Padda taking on her first lead part.
Despite bringing the same director and two principal actors back together, the upcoming movie will not continue the story of Saiyaara. It is being developed as an independent narrative featuring different characters and a separate storyline.
More information about the project, including its official title, plot, additional cast members and exact release date, is expected to be revealed as filming gets underway.
Saiyaara, directed by Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, became a major commercial success after its release. The romantic drama centered on an emotionally intense relationship involving passion, heartbreak and resilience, with its music becoming a significant part of its appeal among younger audiences.
Data cited in the original report from Sacnilk put Saiyaara’s India net earnings at approximately $38.6 million, while its domestic gross was about $46.7 million. The film reportedly earned another $20.1 million internationally, taking its worldwide theatrical gross to roughly $66.8 million.
With the new project moving toward production, the reunion of Suri, Panday and Padda is expected to generate attention as the team begins work on another romantic story for the big screen.
