Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s achievement of becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister has sparked widespread appreciation from influential voices in the United States. American lawmakers, corporate leaders, and notable members of the Indian diaspora commended his leadership, emphasizing its role in elevating India’s international standing and reinforcing ties between New Delhi and Washington.
Among those extending congratulations was US Senator John Cornyn, who acknowledged Modi’s completion of 4,399 days in office. In a message shared on social media, Cornyn noted that the milestone reflected the confidence placed in Modi by approximately 1.4 billion citizens through three consecutive democratic mandates. He characterized the Prime Minister’s years in office as transformative, highlighting India’s economic advancement and efforts aimed at improving the lives of millions.
Arun Agarwal, Co-founder of the Indian American CEO Council and Chair of the Texas Economic Development Corporation, described the occasion as an opportunity to assess India’s remarkable progress over the past decade. According to Agarwal, the nation has undergone significant changes since 2014, emerging as a stronger and more influential participant in global affairs.
He observed that today’s India projects greater confidence and commands increased respect on the world stage. Agarwal further suggested that the country’s evolution has shifted international perceptions, with India increasingly recognized for converting potential into measurable achievements. Technology executive Nikesh Arora, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Palo Alto Networks, also joined the chorus of congratulations. Arora pointed to India’s economic progress during Modi’s tenure and expressed optimism regarding the future trajectory of the India-US partnership, which has expanded significantly in recent years.
American singer and longtime India supporter Mary Millben referred to the achievement as a landmark democratic moment. She praised Modi’s dedication to national development, unity, and progress, describing his leadership as instrumental in shaping a transformative era for the country.
