Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will undertake a State Visit to India next week at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking another significant step in strengthening the India–Brazil Strategic Partnership.
During his visit, President Lula will attend the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, where global leaders, policymakers and technology stakeholders are expected to deliberate on emerging trends in artificial intelligence and its global implications.
The main bilateral engagement of the visit will include delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Modi and President Lula. The discussions are expected to review the entire spectrum of India–Brazil relations and identify new areas for cooperation.
President Lula will also meet President Droupadi Murmu and other senior dignitaries. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers and business leaders, reflecting the growing economic and strategic depth of the partnership.
India and Brazil have steadily expanded cooperation across trade, investment, defence, energy, health, agriculture, space and digital public infrastructure. Both countries have also explored collaboration in critical minerals, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, supercomputing and digital innovation.
Recent high-level interactions between the two leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation in multilateral forums. Both nations have consistently emphasised the importance of reformed multilateralism and stronger Global South collaboration.
The upcoming visit follows Prime Minister Modi’s State Visit to Brazil last year, where both sides reviewed progress in their multifaceted partnership and outlined an ambitious roadmap for future engagement.
President Lula’s participation in the AI Impact Summit underscores the growing convergence between India and Brazil in technology-driven growth and digital transformation, further solidifying their role as key voices among emerging global powers.
