The Presidential Leadership Scholars (PLS) program introduced its ninth annual class in January 2024, featuring five Indian-Americans among the 60 scholars selected. Henish Bhansali, Nina Kshetry, Amol S. Naik, Neeti Sanyal, and Shashank Sinha join the program, offering them an opportunity to explore leadership through the experiences of George W. Bush, William J. Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and Lyndon B. Johnson’s presidencies.
Dr. Henish Bhansali, as the chief medical officer of Medical Home Network, has spearheaded healthcare transformation for low-income patients. His initiative in the program focuses on understanding care teams’ needs and aligning operations with patient outcomes at FQHCs.
Nina Kshetry, founder of Ensaras, brings over 15 years of wastewater treatment experience. With a background in environmental engineering from MIT, she aims to optimize wastewater plant operations using advanced analytics and artificial intelligence.
Amol S. Naik, CEO of Resurgens Strategies, possesses two decades of government affairs and public policy expertise. His career spans advising global firms, building government relations functions, and serving in senior policy roles at Google and the City of Atlanta.
Neeti Sanyal, an executive creative director at Artefact, brings over 15 years of product design and commercialization experience. Her work at PATH, a global health organization, involved developing go-to-market strategies for medical technologies across multiple countries.
Dr. Shashank S. Sinha, director at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, holds triple board certification in cardiology. His expertise in advanced heart failure and cardiac critical care enhances the program’s focus on healthcare leadership.
Throughout the program, these scholars will engage with former administration officials, business leaders, and academics at various presidential centers, exchanging ideas and studying diverse leadership principles to maximize their impact in their respective communities.
