Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan, in response to a Rajya Sabha query, underscored Modi’s recognition, including the United Nations’ top environmental award in 2018.

This series of prestigious awards reflects global acknowledgment of Modi’s statesmanship and leadership. Muraleedharan emphasized India’s elevated standing under Modi’s guidance, particularly in championing the Global South and addressing global challenges through dialogue and diplomacy.

The minister highlighted specific accolades, such as the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin from the Maldives (June 2019), the King Hamad Order of the Renaissance from Bahrain (August 2019), and the Legion of Merit from the US (December 2020). Additionally, Modi received the Order of the Dragon King from Bhutan (December 2021), the Order of Fiji (May 2023), and the Order of Logohu from Papua New Guinea in the same month. Finally, he was honored with the Order of the Nile from Egypt in June.
