Speaking during an interview with CNBC, Trump argued that the US has the capacity to expand at a much faster pace and should not allow inflation concerns or interest rate policies to limit its economic ambitions.

Trump highlighted India as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies, noting that the country continues to post annual growth of around 7% to 8%. He questioned why the United States should be satisfied with more modest targets, insisting the country has the potential to deliver significantly stronger economic results.

The president said the US should aim well beyond 4% economic growth, suggesting the nation could reach growth rates of 12% or even 13%. His comments followed the release of stronger-than-expected US employment figures, which sparked renewed discussions among investors about inflation and the possibility of tighter monetary policy from the Federal Reserve.

Trump criticized what he described as Wall Street’s tendency to react negatively to positive economic data because of expectations that interest rates may remain elevated. He said there was a time when encouraging economic reports typically boosted investor confidence and pushed stock prices higher, adding that he would like to see markets return to that pattern.

The president also challenged the belief that faster economic expansion automatically fuels inflation. According to Trump, sustained growth can strengthen the economy without necessarily creating inflationary pressure. He renewed his criticism of Federal Reserve officials, arguing that high borrowing costs could slow business activity and reduce economic momentum instead of supporting long-term prosperity.

Describing the current period as a “Golden Age” for the United States, Trump pointed to rising manufacturing activity, record employment levels, and higher earnings for average American workers. He also said the stock market continues to perform at historic highs, reflecting confidence in the nation’s economic outlook.

Trump’s remarks also underscored India’s growing importance in the global economy. The country has continued to attract international investment through expanding infrastructure, rising domestic demand, and its role as an alternative manufacturing hub. At the same time, economic cooperation between India and the United States continues to deepen across sectors including trade, technology, semiconductors, clean energy, defense, and supply chain development.

The post Trump cites India’s growth as US benchmark first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

The United States has removed four Indian companies from its sanctions list, reversing earlier restrictions imposed over allegations that they supplied advanced and dual-use technology linked to Russia’s military-industrial sector. The decision was confirmed through an update by the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), which maintains the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) List.

The companies removed from the sanctions list include Hyderabad-based RRG Engineering Technologies PrivateLimited and Lokesh Machines Limited, Ahmedabad-based Galaxy Bearings Ltd, and New Delhi-based Shaurya Aeronautics Private Limited. These firms had previously been accused of involvement in transactions related to Russia amid ongoing international sanctions connected to the conflict in Ukraine.

Galaxy Bearings had been sanctioned in October 2024 over allegations that it exported multiple shipments of high-priority dual-use components such as roller bearings and assemblies to Russian entities. Shaurya Aeronautics was accused of supplying radar systems, radio navigation equipment, remote-control apparatus, and other electronic devices allegedly linked to Russian buyers.

RRG Engineering Technologies faced allegations of exporting over 100 shipments of microelectronics to a Russia-based entity identified on the sanctions list. Meanwhile, Lokesh Machines was accused of shipping machine tools to several Russian manufacturing companies, which placed it under scrutiny by US authorities.

Despite the earlier allegations, the US Treasury Department did not provide any explanation for the sudden removal of these companies from the sanctions list. The delisting effectively lifts restrictions that had previously limited their international financial and trade activities.

The move comes amid ongoing global monitoring of supply chains involving sensitive and dual-use technologies, which can have both civilian and military applications. Such measures are typically part of broader efforts to restrict access to advanced components that may support military capabilities in sanctioned regions.

With the companies now removed from the SDN List, their operational and financial constraints linked to US sanctions are expected to ease significantly. However, no further details have been issued regarding whether the decision followed new evidence, compliance reviews, or diplomatic considerations.

The development highlights the dynamic nature of international sanctions regimes, where entities may be added or removed based on evolving assessments by regulatory authorities.

The post US Removes Four Indian Firms From Sanctions List first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

Gor shared his appreciation while responding to a social media post by Parth Jindal, Managing Director of Jindal Cements and Jindal Paints. Calling the investment a model of successful bilateral cooperation, the ambassador said it reflects the strength of the expanding trade relationship between the two nations.

In his post, Jindal congratulated the JSW Steel USA team for commissioning what he described as North America’s largest vacuum tank degasser along with one of the region’s most advanced slab casters capable of producing 12-inch slabs. He noted that the project was completed after nearly three years of work with an investment of approximately $165 million.

According to Jindal, the new facility will significantly enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities by eliminating the need to import steel slabs from Brazil and other international suppliers. Instead, JSW USA will be able to meet customer demand across North America using steel that is entirely melted and manufactured within the United States.

The company will supply customers through its manufacturing facilities in Mingo Junction, Ohio, and Baytown, Texas, using fully domestic steel production. Jindal said this achievement represents an important milestone in strengthening the company’s North American operations while improving supply chain efficiency.

He also highlighted the transformation of the Mingo Junction steel mill, which JSW revived in 2019 after it had ceased operations. The facility has since been modernized into one of North America’s leading slab production plants.

In addition, Jindal revealed that the company’s plate and pipe mill in Baytown is undergoing another modernization project valued at $110 million, with completion expected by October 1, 2026. With combined investments now exceeding $500 million, he said JSW has established itself as one of the largest Indian investors in the United States, further reinforcing industrial cooperation between the two countries.

The post JSW Steel’s US Expansion Wins Praise From Sergio Gor first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

The positive outlook emerged during the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum’s (USISPF) IX Annual Leadership Summit in Washington, where senior executives met privately with US Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer to review the progress of ongoing negotiations.

The meeting came shortly after Ambassador Greer concluded his visit to India, where he held discussions with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. Those talks centered on creating a balanced bilateral trade agreement while also exploring the possibility of an interim arrangement that aligns with the joint statement released by both nations on February 6, 2026.

According to USISPF, the roundtable covered several priority areas that are expected to shape the future agreement. Participants discussed expanding market access, strengthening digital trade, improving supply chain resilience, and reducing non-tariff barriers that often affect cross-border business operations. Business leaders viewed these issues as essential to creating a stronger and more efficient trade relationship between the two countries.

The organization also praised the negotiating teams from both governments for the progress achieved over the past several months. It noted that companies operating in both markets remain hopeful that the agreement will support the shared ambition of increasing bilateral trade to $500 billion, a target outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump under the “Mission 500” initiative.

USISPF reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the negotiations and emphasized the importance of reaching an agreement that delivers meaningful commercial benefits while maintaining a fair balance for both sides. The forum described the current phase of discussions as a defining period in the expanding strategic and economic partnership between India and the United States.

Mukesh Aghi, President and CEO of USISPF, said the recent interactions reflect the growing pace of trade engagement between the two countries. He noted that Ambassador Greer’s participation in the leadership summit, shortly after his meetings in New Delhi, demonstrates the strong commitment to advancing trade talks. Aghi added that as the United States marks 250 years of independence, the relationship with India is entering a significant new chapter.

USISPF concluded that the latest discussions have strengthened confidence among business leaders that both governments are steadily moving toward a comprehensive trade framework designed to deepen commercial cooperation and create new economic opportunities for both nations.

The post India-US trade deal gains momentum: USISPF first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

He also confirmed that the Trump administration is working closely with Indian counterparts as both nations move closer to finalizing a long-awaited bilateral trade agreement.

Rubio said he personally plans to visit India before the end of this year in order to help coordinate and set the groundwork for the presidential trip. He expressed optimism about the timeline, noting that discussions are actively focused on ensuring the visit takes place early next year if current progress continues.

Speaking on the state of India-US relations, Rubio described the partnership as being in a strong and positive phase. He pointed to recent high-level engagement between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G7 Summit, saying the meeting contributed to strengthening diplomatic momentum between the two countries.

He further emphasized that both sides are making steady progress in trade negotiations, suggesting that the agreement is now in its final stages. According to Rubio, only a small number of issues remain unresolved as officials work to conclude what he described as a highly positive and advanced negotiation process.

The US Secretary of State also highlighted broader strategic cooperation, particularly within the Quad framework involving India, the United States, Japan, and Australia. He said Washington is looking forward to another leaders’ meeting soon, reflecting continued coordination on regional and global issues.

Overall, Rubio’s remarks underline a period of increasing diplomatic activity between New Delhi and Washington. With trade discussions nearing completion and plans for high-level visits taking shape, both countries appear to be moving toward deeper economic and strategic alignment in the coming months.

The post Rubio Signals Trump India Visit Early Next Year first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

Juster. Addressing the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Leadership Summit in Washington, Juster described these human connections as the “secret sauce” that has helped both countries maintain strong ties despite occasional diplomatic challenges over the decades.

Reflecting on the long-standing relationship, Juster said the partnership stretches back centuries, well before the modern era of strategic cooperation. He pointed out that the United States established diplomatic missions in Calcutta in 1792 and Madras in 1794, making India one of the earliest destinations for American diplomatic engagement outside the country. He also noted that the US established formal relations with India’s interim government in September 1946, months before India officially gained independence.

Juster explained that bilateral ties accelerated following India’s economic reforms in 1991 but faced a temporary setback after the country’s nuclear tests in 1998. However, diplomatic discussions between senior officials from both nations helped rebuild trust, ultimately leading to President Bill Clinton’s landmark visit to India in 2000. He said this period laid the foundation for a much stronger strategic partnership.

Successive US administrations continued to expand cooperation with India. Juster highlighted the civil nuclear agreement and technology collaboration under President George W. Bush, India’s designation as a major defense partner during Barack Obama’s presidency, the revival of the Quad and the launch of the 2+2 ministerial dialogue under President Donald Trump’s first administration, and the elevation of Quad meetings to the leaders’ level during President Joe Biden’s term.

He added that the current US administration is focused on enhancing defense cooperation, energy security, and concluding the first bilateral trade agreement between the two countries. Trade has already grown significantly, increasing from $19 billion in 2001 to nearly $250 billion today. Both governments are now aiming to expand bilateral trade to $500 billion by the end of the decade, with a comprehensive trade deal expected to support that goal.

Juster emphasized that collaboration now extends across defense, healthcare, education, science, technology, agriculture, energy, investment, space, and counterterrorism. He also praised the contributions of more than 5 million Indian Americans, saying their influence has strengthened the partnership in countless ways. His remarks came ahead of the launch of USISPF’s commemorative book, We the People: 250 Voices That Have Shaped the U.S.-India Relationship, which celebrates the individuals whose efforts have shaped the enduring friendship between the two democracies.

The post People-to-people ties key India-US bond: Former US Envoy first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

Speaking at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Leadership Summit in Washington, Gor outlined the Trump administration’s commitment to expanding cooperation with India through trade, investment, technology, and security initiatives.

During the event, Honorary Senior Advisor Al Mason introduced Gor with high praise, describing him as a leader who has spent more than a decade building meaningful relationships that now contribute to one of America’s most significant international partnerships. Mason characterized Gor’s diplomatic style as one centered on trust, personal connections, and long-term collaboration, saying his approach has played an important role in reinforcing the relationship between the two nations.

Responding to the introduction, Gor thanked Mason for his longstanding friendship and support, noting that their relationship extends back more than a decade. He said his assignment in India has always been focused on producing measurable outcomes rather than attending ceremonial events.

According to Gor, negotiations for the proposed India-US bilateral trade agreement have reached an advanced stage. He indicated that nearly all major elements of the agreement have been finalized, with only a small number of issues remaining before both sides can conclude the discussions. The progress, he said, reflects the determination of both governments to strengthen economic cooperation.

Beyond trade, Gor highlighted growing collaboration across several strategic sectors. He pointed to increased engagement in artificial intelligence, critical minerals, advanced technology, defense, and India’s participation in the PAX Silicon initiative. He noted that new opportunities for cooperation continue to emerge, demonstrating the broad potential of the partnership.

The ambassador also emphasized President Donald Trump’s continued interest in maintaining strong relations with India. Gor recalled a personal moment in which Trump suggested calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi early in the morning, saying the exchange reflected the genuine friendship and mutual respect shared by the two leaders, even though the conversation ultimately took place as originally scheduled.

Before becoming ambassador, Gor served as Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office, a role that allowed him to build close relationships with senior administration officials. He explained that those connections now help resolve challenges more efficiently for American businesses operating in India by speeding up communication across government departments.

With responsibilities that also include serving as Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs, Gor continues to play a central role in advancing cooperation between the United States and India across trade, technology, defense, and broader regional priorities.

The post Sergio Gor emerges key India-US link under Trump first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

The ship’s visit forms part of its ongoing transoceanic mission known as Lokayan 26, which focuses on strengthening international maritime engagement and showcasing India’s naval traditions on a global stage.

INS Sudarshini reached Baltimore on June 26, where it will remain engaged in a series of ceremonial and outreach activities linked to the Sail250 Maryland celebrations. The event marks a major milestone in American history, and the presence of the Indian naval vessel highlights growing cooperation between the two countries in maritime affairs and cultural exchange.

Maryland Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller welcomed visiting international crews and highlighted the significance of the occasion in a post on social media platform X. She described her visit to INS Sudarshini as personally meaningful, noting her own journey from India to Maryland and emphasizing the long-standing connections between the two democracies. She also underlined that the harbor has historically served as a gateway connecting people, cultures, and opportunities, and that the current celebrations reflect Maryland’s global outreach.

During its stay in Baltimore, INS Sudarshini is expected to participate in community engagement initiatives, maritime exchange programs, and cultural interactions. These activities are designed to foster stronger understanding between visiting crews and local communities while celebrating shared nautical heritage.

According to India’s Ministry of Defence, the ship’s port call represents more than a ceremonial visit. It reflects India’s deep-rooted maritime history and underscores the expanding strategic and operational cooperation between the Indian Navy and the United States Navy. Officials noted that such engagements play a key role in strengthening defense diplomacy and building trust between partner nations.

Lokayan 26, under which the voyage is being conducted, is a significant overseas expedition aimed at promoting naval diplomacy and international collaboration. The mission also seeks to highlight India’s traditional seafaring legacy through one of its premier sail training vessels.

Overall, the participation of INS Sudarshini in the US 250th anniversary celebrations is seen as a symbolic gesture of goodwill, reinforcing the growing partnership between India and the United States across maritime, cultural, and diplomatic dimensions.

The post Indian Navy to Join US 250th Anniversary Events first appeared on Global Indian News Network.

Speaking at a White House news conference, Trump stressed that the bilateral trade arrangement with India remains firmly in place and continues to reflect the strong relationship between the two countries.

Addressing questions following the court’s decision, the president stated that the ruling would not affect ongoing trade cooperation with India. He emphasized that the partnership remains a priority and described relations with India as excellent, noting that both countries continue to expand their commercial engagement.

Trump’s remarks came shortly after the US Supreme Court issued its decision on the administration’s broader tariff measures. Although the ruling attracted considerable attention, he made it clear that the India-specific trade framework would remain unaffected. According to the president, both governments remain committed to strengthening economic ties through continued cooperation and stable trade policies.

Earlier this month, the US administration took steps to revise tariff measures affecting Indian exports by withdrawing an earlier punitive tariff structure. Under the updated arrangement, the tariff rate applied to Indian goods was reduced from 25 percent to 18 percent, easing trade conditions and providing greater certainty for businesses involved in cross-border commerce.

The revised tariff framework is expected to support stronger trade flows between the two nations while encouraging investment and long-term economic collaboration. Lower duties could improve market access for Indian exporters and strengthen supply chains connecting businesses in both countries.

India and the United States have steadily expanded their economic partnership in recent years across sectors including manufacturing, technology, energy, and digital innovation. The continuation of the current trade agreement reflects both countries’ shared interest in promoting stable commercial relations and creating new opportunities for businesses.

Trump also reiterated his positive view of the bilateral relationship, expressing confidence that trade cooperation with India will continue to grow. His comments signal that despite legal developments surrounding US tariff policies, Washington remains focused on maintaining a predictable and constructive trade partnership with New Delhi.

Overall, the announcement provides reassurance that the existing India-US trade arrangement will remain intact, reinforcing the commitment of both nations to deepen economic cooperation and strengthen one of their most important strategic partnerships.

The post Trump Confirms India-US Trade Deal Remains Unchanged first appeared on Global Indian News Network.
